Group Therapy

Connection, Skill Building, and Growing Alongside Others

Group therapy offers teens and young adults a chance to learn, grow, and build skills in a supportive environment with others who are in a similar stage of life. While individual therapy provides space to talk through personal experiences and challenges, group therapy creates opportunities to practice skills, hear different perspectives, and realize you are not the only one going through something difficult. For many clients, that sense of connection and shared experience can be incredibly meaningful.

Throughout the year, we offer a variety of therapy groups that focus on areas such as anxiety, emotional regulation, confidence, social skills, relationships, and life transitions. Groups are structured and guided by a therapist, and while they are supportive, they are also skill focused and goal oriented. Many clients use group therapy as a place to practice communication, build confidence, improve emotional awareness, and try new coping strategies in a safe and guided setting.

How Group Therapy Fits Into Treatment

At Pikes Peak Family Counseling, group therapy is often used alongside individual therapy. Individual therapy allows clients to work through personal experiences and deeper emotional concerns, while group therapy provides a space to practice skills, build confidence, and connect with peers. The two often work very well together and can help clients make progress more quickly and feel more supported overall.

Most groups are held in person in Colorado Springs, with Telehealth available when needed as an accommodation.
